My Journey Across the U.S.- Day Five 10/28/2012: Next Up, Nashville

I woke up and took Harley out for a walk.  I'm on my way out of the lobby and I see a guest with a puppy talking to the girl at the front desk.  Talking as in in sternly talking to her.  The front desk girl looks at me and shakes her head and says "we don't allow dogs".  I looked at her, then at the other woman with the dog and say "ok, well, I called before I made my reservation and was told you do, at no charge"... in my mind I was thinking "whatever bitch".

I go outside and the other woman approaches me and said she didn't care what that girl said.  She called too and they told her it was okay.  She wasn't about to leave.  I went in and made sure they weren't going to charge me for having me dog.  Her reply to me was "I can't charge you if you checked in with him, but the girl who told you it was okay is going to pay".  OUCH.

I went to Graceland.  This was one of my bucket list items. Check!  White girl confession:  I LOVE ELVIS.  So, you have options for the tour: Platinum or VIP.  I really wanted to do VIP, but decided to do Platinum.  Good deal.  I liked it, but you can't go upstairs in the mansion.  I'm sorry, but I'm nosy and that's why I came here, to see how Elvis lived and for $50 I think I am entitled to see where he slept. Maybe not.  I still loved it and the staff there couldn't have been more lovely.  Every time someone saw me attempt to take photos of myself, they would offer to take one for me.  Kudos Graceland operations - one girl even directed me towards her heater when she saw me shivering.

I left Memphis - in a hurry.  I wanted to ask for a late check out and go on a Riverboat down the Mississippi, but since the girl was already pissed at me, I decided to get the hell outta there.

I made my way into Nashville - I am actually at the Aloft in Cool Springs - LOVE it here!  I'm sitting at Jonathan's Grille, having some beers.  They are two for one...yay.  The people are great.  Service is FAB.  I've had 6 beers at this point and I get to walk to my hotel next door.  Everyone here says ya'll and I've been complimented on my bangs...a Taylor Swift reference. Ew. I feel comfortable calling this place home for the next four days.
